Cruising into Edinburgh

When arriving by cruise ship to Edinburgh, you will arrive at one of two disembarkation points, the Leith Cruise Terminal at Newhaven alternatively at South Queensferry beneath the iconic Forth Bridges for which the city is known. Ships dock on the quayside at Leith Cruise Terminal allowing direct access to the Terminal, alternatively at South Queensferry you will be tendered (a smaller shuttle boat from the cruise ship) to Hawes Pier. From either, you are ideally located to go north to the Kingdom of Fife for some top-quality links golf or head east to Scotland’s Golf Coast, East Lothian, each are home to iconic courses renowned the world over.

Welcome to the The Home of Golf, St Andrews, Kingsbarns, Muirfield or North Berwick for starters. Obviously, these courses come at a premium and certain have very limited availability, particularly if booking close to your intended date of play. However there are plenty more fantastic links where we can secure a morning tee time for you with plenty time for 18 holes of exhilarating links golf and get you back to your cruise ship in time for dinner; we recommend some superb lesser known courses such as Craigielaw, The Glen North Berwick, Longniddry, Aberdour , Lundin Links , Dumbarnie or Elie links.

Transfer time to most courses is around 1 hour each way so you need to be disembarking your cruise ship for 8am and leaving for your next port-of-call no earlier than 5 pm to enjoy 18 holes, a refreshment after the game and return to your cruise ship.
