Hotel and Golf Options
The Saint Malo Golf Resort was upgraded in winter 2019/20 to a 4-star property and the spacious rooms and new clubhouse layout do reflect these improvements. The property was formerly known as Saint Malo Le Tronchet is located 20 minutes by car from Saint Malo town but for a golf weekend you are ideally located with the championship course on site which regularly hosts Alp Tour events (one below European Tour).
Choose between standard and split-level rooms (duplex) for a bit of extra space, although the standard rooms are bigger than most you will find in modern French hotels. Hotels in St Malo are plentiful, but parking can be a challenge throughout the season.
Other than the St Malo Resort course, personal favourites include Pléneuf-Val-André with its iconic panoramic 11th hole, The Dinard course, a shortish but historic links track, reminiscent of some classic Scottish courses and Golf des Ormes, quintessentially French though best avoided after heavy downpours.
