Le Touquet – Paris Plage
The classic French golf break is Le Touquet, the most fashionable of seaside resort and the closest to the French capital so hence it is often referred to as Paris Plage. At just 30 minutes from Calais you can be on the course in well under 2 hours from exiting the Channel Tunnel.

The north coast of Brittany is such an easy choice for your French golf break. St Malo is both beguiling and atmospheric in equal measures and with some fine links and parkland golf on the doorstep, what’s not to like?
The Loire – La Bretesche
If you closed your eyes and thought of France and golf you may just imagine La Bretesche. There is an elegant chateau, well-manicured gardens, a lake with swans and 18 holes of tree lined fairways to lure you from the straight and narrow. At the mouth of the River Loire is the historic regional capital of Nantes and just north west of Nantes you will find La Bretesche in a woodland extending across nearly 600 acres.
Bordeaux – Golf and Wine Capital
Travelling south from the Loire, the weather certainly improves and the sandy soil, and reliable sunshine lends itself to grape production and golf. The city of Bordeaux has a small population, just a little larger than that of Northampton, but an international reputation for the finest wines. Within a short drive of Bordeaux there are some premier cru golf courses to be sampled and with regular low-cost and flights into Bordeaux, it makes for a great choice for your next golf break.
Biarritz – The Basque Country
Culturally this region is neither French or Spanish but a fiercely independent province straddling the two countries with its own language, history, cuisine, and passion for golf. Biarritz airport has frequent international flights arriving daily, enabling this far south west corner of France to gain in popularity amongst the adventurous travelling golfer. Playing golf with the backdrop of the blue waters of the Med is always a pleasure, in the south of France there are an impressive selection of great courses and resorts to choose from. If you don’t want to be the beating heart of the Cote D’Azur then our favourites resort sits above St Raphael at Saint Endréol.
From Monaco in the East to St Tropez in the west there are more than 30 courses worth a mention which skirt the coast and rise into the foothills of the Alps all of which are playable year-round.
